The palace’s maze-like corridors inspired the myth of the Labyrinth, where the Minotaur was said to live. After Knossos, we visit the Archaeological Museum, which has been newly renovated. It features traditional architecture and showcases valuable artifacts from Crete’s ancient past. A walk through Heraklion is a great way to end the day. Visitors can explore modern shops, enjoy coffee or lunch in local restaurants, or admire the city’s beautiful medieval buildings.
