Tour Plan
- We begin our day in Chania, one of the most charming cities in Crete. Chania has two parts: the Old Town and the New Town. The Old Town is full of life, with colorful buildings, small shops, and cozy cafes. As you walk through the narrow streets, you will see many signs of the past. There are remains from the Minoan period, old Venetian walls and buildings, Turkish mosques, and a lovely harbor with a famous lighthouse. The mix of styles and cultures makes Chania a special place to visit.
- After Chania, we drive to Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake in Crete. The lake is surrounded by green hills and is a peaceful spot to relax. You can swim in the clear water, rent a paddle boat, take a walk along the shore, or just sit and enjoy the view. Lake Kournas is also home to special birds, turtles, and fish, and it is part of a protected natural area. We stop here for a break and enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch near the lake.
- On our way back, we visit Rethymno, the third largest town in Crete. Rethymno is a beautiful place with a long history. Its Old Town has narrow streets, colorful houses, and buildings from different time periods. You will see Venetian fortresses, Turkish minarets, and many small details that tell stories from the past. The harbor is a great place to enjoy a drink or take some nice photos before we return.
