Preveli Beach—also known as Lake Preveli or Phoenix—sits at the end of the impressive Kourtaliotiko Gorge. Here, the Grand River (Megalos Potamos) flows into the sea. This beach is famous for its tropical feel and draws thousands of visitors each summer. Back in the 1960s and 1970s, it became a favorite hangout for hippies.
